- Except for the bit of information about how to calm Fluffy, this entire chapter could be omitted and the book would be just fine. That said, the idea of Hagrid trying to raise a dragon in his hut is entertaining and the movie plays it well. My first watch/read through I expected Norbit(a) to make a comeback and fully expected one of the of the Tri-Wizard dragons to be her.

- We don’t know it yet in this book, but Hagrid is repeating, and will repeat again the same behaviour that, (no matter how justified), got him expelled. He never learns.

- As to Hagrid looking up info about dragon’s, this would not be in the restricted section. They are simply animals that are dangerous, not dark magic. After all, Dragon wrangling seems to be a legitimate career. Seems like a legitimate class discussion in “Care of Magical Creatures” class.

- You ladies mentioned all the effort taken to hide the magical world from us Muggles. Suddenly reminded me of another group.

It was a fun chapter, but I didn’t see how it was relevant to the book as a whole. I think it’s hilarious how pro-Quirell Ron and Harry were. I can’t believe that you make the connection with dittany between the first and seventh books. I never thought about Ron’s injury as a plot device. I can’t believe Hagrid hid Norbert for as long as he did. I wonder if Filch ever sleeps.
