I loved that I’m not the only one who thought that ‘You’re a wizard, Harry’ was from the book too. HP Mandela Effect! I also like how you touched upon the family names being dropped. The Prewitt mention made me think of this fanart: http://fav.me/dampl6

Little late here to listening but I want to address the conversation about how Dudley’s tail wouldn’t fly in the later books because of the regulations from the ministry. You need to take to account that the ministry only knows the location of a magic act, not the person who casts it (we know this from book two because of Dobby preforming magic to get Harry in trouble as well as Voldemort committing crimes and later blaming them on house elves). Everyone believes Hagrid no longer has a wand nor does magic of any kind. They also know Harry has preformed Magic unknowing how or why it happened since he is underage and had zero training. He was never reprimanded for the vanishing glass or any of his other magic acts before he knew what he was. I feel the ministry assumed Harry produced the pigs tail from either shock or fear.

You know, I never even thought about how this would work for those wizards and witches who are underage! This is an incredibly valid point! Do we also know if the Ministry is aware of who is all present (if there are specific Muggles in a room or do they assume certain neighborhoods belong to Muggles and others are wizarding)? The island is fairly remote. Could it be assumed that a small, regularly unpopulated island would be of no concern to the Ministry? Either way, your logic is brilliant!

I had no idea that Hagrid took the gun from Vernon in the book! In the movie, he approaches Vernon, says “Dry up Dursley, you great prune.” And bends the gun. It also goes off!
I know this is probably obvious information now so many years after this podcast was aired, but I thought I’d clarify. ❤️
