In Shades by Fernwithy the author sets up quite a wild scenario that would explain why Tonks was in the state that she was in. Basically, she Remus and the order were saving a bunch of werewolf children from Greyback and she wasn’t sure if Remus was alive. I wish her fanon was canon!
