7.32 The Elder Wand

Alice and Martha sound like Lucius as they discuss “the boy,” who makes his way out of the castle and heads for the Shrieking Shack. Hagrid also makes his way out of the castle as the acromantulas get a bit restive. And finally, it’s the ultimate flight of the Prince.

Look, I like your podcast but the repeated convos about wand lore are driving me insane. The Elder Wand doesn’t operate the same way as normal wands. It’s whole purpose and function is to be unbeatable, it’s crafted by death. OF COURSE if it’s beaten it transfers hands and loyalty and carries a different type of magic. Normal wands don’t just flip flop loyalty based on loss, but the specific nature of the Elder Wand is what makes those rules apply.

Oh wow, I love the theory about Harry’s connection with Voldemort strengthens as the Horcruxes are defeated!

Some parts of this chapter flew over my head during the audio listen so I’m happy for this Book Club episode in particular!

Glissio sure does sound like fun.

I think Hagrid was talking to the wizards to not hurt the acromantulas.

I saw a funny post that asked if Harry was dreaming about long corridors in Book 5, did that mean Voldemort was dreaming of Cho and quidditch? I guess not!

I was upset when Dobby and Fred died the second time around. I’m a lot more emotional over Tonks’ and Remus’ deaths because I spent so much time reading fanfiction of them while I read GoF, OotP and HBP. And now that I know Snape’s story, I didn’t get emotional. In fact, I forgot he was going to die in this chapter too.
