5.36 The Only One He Ever Feared

Voldemort has plenty of chances to exercise his high, cold laugh in this chapter, even though his Death Eaters really do prove to be a bunch of bumbling idiots. Martha and Alice get to the bottom of several slightly vague Ministry of Magic plot lines. And, as the chapter title suggests, Double Door and Voldemort finally go head-to-head in one of the most epic duels of the series.

I just came from Fernwithy’s Shifts and the scene that she wrote about Remus processing Sirius’ death made me cry. And it’s been 16 years since I read OotP!

I don’t see how you can accidentally say ‘Avada Kedavra’. Hmm, if good people can’t cast unforgivable curses, doesn’t that give the bad people an unfair advantage?

Wow, Martha’s evil laugh is really scary!

During my first read, I thought that the statues acted on their own accord.
